Thinking about this some more: It certainly appears likely that the slight Bernoulli pressure drop
going through the relatively small air intake inlets on the L IV/P cowl
design would create an ideal situation (drop in air temp) for ice
formation sufficient to block the cooling air flow, which is already
marginal and depends on the already critical geometry of the existing
inlets.
If it were mine, I would be very tempted to consider either electric
heater elements for that inlet area, or some form of hot air ducted
behind the fiber glass inlet structure. Regards, George
