Today at approximately 1:15 MST
my Lancair Super ES N132BB took its maiden flight. Under the skilled pilotage of
Mr. Orin Riddell the airplane lifted off effortlessly. Throughout the day
we made several adjustments and by dark we had made 4 flights and accumulated
about 2 flight hours. I was able to fly the 3rd and 4th flight. What an
incredible experience. Words can not describe all of the feelings.
Excitement, anticipation, expectation, concern, etc.
We had a frontal passage at
about 2:30 and the winds were howling. We went anyway and "let er
buck" If any structural problems were going to arise, this was the
time. It is truly an incredible airplane and work of engineering. I
would like to thank all of the people behind the scene at Lancair that have
provided the chance for people like me to have this total experience. From
learning how to stir the first pot of "sauce" as we have come to call it, to
flying away in my own creation.
I can't say enough. Other
than thank you.
