Marv -

We are building an ES and would be very interested. Any idea as to the costs?

Also, we don't have a bulkhead that looks like the IV's bulkhead to attach the strut to. Any idea where we could attach?

Thanks,

John

[Hi John, since that structure doesn't exist in the ES I could provide a bracket that would pot into a slot in the ceiling of the baggage compartment. I'll be sure to take a look at a couple ES's at Sun'n'Fun and will design and provide a proper fitting.  As for cost, I don't have a clue at the moment, as much will depend on how many I make... economies of scale and all that.   I'll do some materials sourcing over the weekend (after everyone who's interessted has had an opportunity to respond) and come up with a number early next week.  Thanks for your inquiry.          <Marv>                 ]

Rather than use a tab to mount the fixed end of the gas spring I decided to
utilize the bulkhead mount structure to absorb the load of the spring when
it's compressed by tapping a piece of 3/8" drill rod to accept a -3 bolt and
cross-drilled it to accept some flox.  Once the proper mounting location in
the bulkhead mount structure was determined it was drilled clear through, the
mount rod was trimmed to finish out flush with the front surface and then
potted in.
