Attached is a photo of where my
compass module is mounted under my left rear seat. It's a small,
lightweight unit that connects to the instrument with a standard telephone
cord. It just plugs into the back of the instrument. Mine came with
the phone jack for the compass module, so I assume they all have it. If
you have a phone cord jack in the back of your Micro encoder, that's what it's
for.
You need to mount the unit level
and in line with the plane's longitudinal axis. It's a piece of cake to
calibrate it and I think it was worth the extra cost.
