Consider Caldwell, NJ
Remember a couple of things---1) NYC has awesome public transportation, so
don't rent a car unless you really need it. See http://www.nycvisit.com
2) Heck, you could land in Danbury Ct. and it's a 1/2 hour drive to NYC.
Remember the Northeast is very tiny.
