I must admit that, after buying the Mike Custard/Lancair system, I agree that the A/C can be made much more cheaply. Essentially, as he suggests, it is an aftermarket system for your 64 Ford pickup. The hardest part to find is the underdash unit. That becomes the part in the back of the cabin. Condensers and fans are easily located, as are compressors. Hoses require special crimped connectors, and it helps to have a hose place nearby (Mine is about 5 miles away). I don't wish to be derogatory. There was a lot of work went into the original install. The developers provide us with all the bits and pieces. And they found the parts. Further, they deserve a return on their investment. But, knowing the little key information about air ingress and egress for the condenser, it should be possible to replicate the kit for under $1,000. You just have to chase down the parts.
