We just finished closing our h-stab on our 235 and found that our Hysol didn't harden to what I would assume is a `finished' state but rather it stayed kind of sticky/tacky for some time. Its still slightly tacky and this is 2 MONTHS later!! I tried to contact builder support immediately to ask if this was common and what could be done about it or if we should try to cut the skin off or or or.. and in the asking.. I didn't receive an answer. The next step in the process was to call and was told that someone would get back to us. Weeks pass and no-one calls so at this point I pose the question. We've since taken one of our test coupon's and `nuked' it in the micro-wave to see if heat helped the process. We found that infact if did, now we're not sure if we should set up some sort of oven and heat the tail -on a nice flat surface- to 100 deg or so for a couple hrs or more and see if its less tacky or what.. at this point I think its a bit late to save the thing if it needs to be taken apart. I guess the thing that bugged me was if we had received and answer right away we might have been able to prevent having to build a second tail. This is the first time I've used Hysol and I'm not totally familiar w/ the product. The product was about 8 months old, it had been stored at room temp since we had purchased it so it should be ok. We used incredibly accurate scales to weigh and mix it [ their used for mixing auto paints and if you breath on them they register it] I'm kinda at a loss as to what the heck to do.. and getting more frustrated by the day.
