I am getting ready to start on my firewall. I'd like to get some feedback
from those who have flying Legacies regarding the exhaust pipes.
I know that Rick S. had some problems with delamination on the bottom of his
fuselage just aft of the exhaust pipes. This was due to excess heat. His
solution was to cut his pipes and angle them downward slightly. This solved
his problem.
At our Builder's Conference here is San Jose, I noticed that other builders
had stayed with the stock pipes, although I did see one that had done some
cutting on the tips of his pipes.
My question is whether any of our flying Legacies are experiencing any
problems in this area. I'd appreciate hearing one way or the other as now is
the time to cut and reweld my pipes if it's necessary.
Thanks,
Ron Jones
