There's no doubt that Carsten, Orin and Mark's departures represent a significant loss of talent -- but they weren't there at the beginning, either. Talented people come and go. Sure, they're better at the end when they have all that experience, but Mark wasn't exactly a newbie when he walked thru the door either, and I don't expect the new guys will be beginners either. So for the guy that was waiting to plunk down his money until Lancair "settles down", I say that there's only one other kitplane company with more longevity and flying airplanes, and that's Van's. Waiting for things to stagnate at Lancair is just plain silly. Is that what you really want? The Legacy represents the culmination of almost 20 years refinement of the basic two-place Lancair. (I don't really know what the IV-P represents...) The new RV's represent the culmination of almost 20 years refinement of the basic two-place RV. Decide which you want and "just do it". Life's too short to wait. Having said all that, I'd like to contact Mark if possible. Anyone got contact info for him? Thanks. - Rob Wolf
