Prior to going to the airport yesterday, I stumbled on this troubleshooting guide from Sky-Tec's website>>Aircraft Starter Troubleshooting Guide (http://www.skytecair.com/troubleshooting1.htm). Based on this guide, my test indicates a weak battery (replacement battery on order). If I ever need a new starter in the future, I would probably go for the B&C since, like Skyhawk, I already have B&C components in the engine (i.e. alternator, voltage regulator). In addition, more than one lister mentioned the huge current draw of the SkyTec starter.
