Rick:  I have mixed results with the Sky Tec starter.  It is light weight
and therefore will require adjustment to weight/balance.  More importantly,
it draws massively more amps of power to start an engine because it utilizes
permanent magnets in its structure.  Resultantly, my electronic ignition
(Jeff Rose's "Electroaire") gets robbed of the necessary amperage to
function properly when the starter is engaged.  My start procedure requires
me to disable the Electroaire and start only on the left impulse-coupled
magneto--causing excess ware on the starter and battery.  At 200 rpms I turn
on the Electroaire and the engine immediately smoothes.

So..., if you want quick starts and low battery drain, perhaps you should
use the standard Lamar, etc. starter.             Greg Nelson
