For Hal Woodruff

Hal:

I sure think that you have the answer to my gear door problem.  I was toying with idea of using 3/8 tubing.  You boggle my mind with 3/4's. Great photo.

I'm surprised that your slider is so short.  My original 1/8th inch sliders were 30 inches long..  I was thinking of using the entire 36 inch long piece of 1/4 inch HDPE that I just received from Lancair?
Would you consider that overkill?

Also, can you give me the approximate height of both your sliders?  The short one and the long one?

Another question;  Do you think that there is enough room to incorporate a 90 degree bend  in the tubing and run the tubing across the thick section of the door?  I like the idea of having a torque arm.  I really cant bend 3/4 inch tubing but I can bend the 3/8ths.  Do you think that the torque arm would be worth the trouble?

Thanks for the help.  Bill Hogarty
