How would I get dual instruction in my own airplane without dual controls?  From an AVWeb article:

Title 14 CFR section 91.109(a) states, in part, that no person may
operate a civil aircraft that is being used for flight instruction
unless that aircraft has fully functioning dual controls.

Since my plan is to have a factory pilot make the first flight then check me out in the airplane (to make the insurance company happy) don't I NEED dual controls (including dual rudders but not dual brakes)?

And I have a policy of getting an instrument proficiency check with an instructor every 6 months.  Don't I need dual rudders for this to be legal as well?
