Congratulations! That is quite an engine you have there although I think at this point "hung on" would be more accurate than "installed in". There is a lot of detail that goes into an installation that is not yet apparent from the photos provided.
I do have a couple of quick questions to help me believe.
The prop centerline seems to be at least 5 inches higher than the stock ~51". Is this true or is it the camera angle? What will this do to pitch / power stability?
It looks like there is a radiator about twice the size of the intercooler, where does that go? How about the oil cooler?
Does this engine have the ceramic coatings? If so, why does it need such big heat exchangers?
I assume the engine is dry sumped. Where does the oil tank go?
Do you have a cowling made yet? Please post photos if/when you do.
Regarding the test stand, you say it was making 350 HP, so with that prop the static thrust should have been about 1200 pounds. What the heck was the trailer tied to so it wasn't part of a premature high speed taxi test? I know for a fact that a 3/4 ton pickup can be pulled backwards with significantly less than 1200 pounds force.
With the inverted cylinder design, how much blue (oil) smoke do you get at startup? A little? A lot? Mosquito abatement? What happens when you hydrolock (water, gas or oil) one or more of the cylinders?
You must have done a weight and balance study in order to position the engine. What did you use for an all up engine weight with coolers, accessories, coolant and oil? How did that compare with the actual weight of the engine before you hung it on the plane?
At the 350 Hp point, what was the RPM, fuel flow and BSFC?
Please keep us posted as to your progress. Inquiring minds want to know.
