I received the engine around Sept 2000. The engine has not been cranked. Upon receipt of the Service Bulletin, I contacted our local Continental Rep, John Jewell Aircraft, at Holly Springs, Miss. He ordered the parts and about three weeks later he had the parts and traveled to Gibson County Airport where he and I installed the new parts. The engine mount was not disconnected from the firewall. The starter was removed. The four bolts holding the engine to the mount thru the engine isolators were removed, an engine hoist was attached to the engine. The tail of the aircraft was propped and the weight of the engine just lifted off the mounts allowing the engine hoist to be rolled forward approx. two inches allowing the starter adapter to be removed, the new parts installed, and replaced. Before starting to do the above the battery box was removed to provide access to the starter adapter. With the investment in the aircraft, I sure did not want to be the eighth verified failure and risk a total engine failure. If there are further questions, please advise.
