Bill,
I think my flaps retract in about the same time as yours, ie, one long
second or the same as the extension speed (valve wide open).  I would like
to have the flaps retract slow enough that one can put the handle "up" and
go on about the business of flying without the need to "milk" them up a bit
at a time.  I plan to call Vern today to price another adjustable valve.
I have adjusted the extension speed so the flaps go down slowly, about five
seconds from up to down.  Once the machine is flying I can make the
adjustments so suit.  I feel that slow retraction will aid in resetting the
pitch trim and eliminate "sag".
I'll keep you posted.
