I have had the opportunity to fly the new 3 blade Scimitar Hartzell prop
in a Lancair
IVP and before installing the prop we carefully measured the cruise
performance then
installed the Hartzell prop and again checked the cruise speed.
   The cruise speed was 9 mph faster at 75% power, than three blade MT
at 7500 feet. Due to pressures of leaving for Redmond OR. we didn't get
to check other altitudes and power settings. The difference in climb was
very small and hard to quantify properly.
