Does anyone have any real world flight performance data on the Scimitar Hartzel which is the "new improved" design being sold by Lancair for the IVP. Questions are:
1) How does it compare to the old Hartzel design previously recommended by Lancair?
2) What are the ramifications of the stated limitation of not more than 30in or more than 2500 RPM due to vibration using a TSIO-550-B engine?
3) What differences are there between the B and G model engine which would remove this restriction for the G model and not the B (as per Hartzels web site)
4) What about the E or E(1)B engines. Do they have any restriction.
5) I had heard this new prop gave someone 15 KIAS more speed at 14,000 and 5 KIAS more at FL 240. I believe the story which I got third hand was this was verses an MT prop of unknown model on a IVP with an unknown engine. I was told this prop was a variant of what Lancair raced at Reno.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
