How much benefit is there to running a plenum and how much room do I need between the plenum and the cowl to allow for engine "shake"? I have very little room from the top of the engine to the inside of the top cowl, maybe 1.5" or so. Last question is material to build it with, aluminum or carbon fiber. One last thing, I was in Caldwell Idaho (near Boise)buying some odds and ends at a local bone yard and stopped at the Caldwell airport to buy some gas. There was a lancair for sale on the field. I do not remember the gentleman's name but his wife owns the airplane and they have it up for sale. These people also have a racing plane they were planning to take to Reno this week. This may be the one you are looking for. If you were to call the fbo up there, I am sure they would know who they are and could get you a phone #. Thanks for any input on the plennum thing.
