Does anyone know of a CFI That would give me an hour of time in a Lancair
320. I need the signoff for first flight insurance. My plane is finished and inspected. My email is pecan@pflash.com  I live in central Texas. I would fly to meet the CFI

Thanks Jerry Knapp

Jerry,

Why don't you want to do the checkout in your own plane by someone how has the experience to fly it?

When I bought my plane from a builder in Carson City, NV in 1998, Don Goetz flew down from the Lancair factory in Redding, OR. Don spent a day inspecting and teaching me how to fly the 320. Don told me that Lancair would sent him anywhere for the cost of fuel in his plane and , I think, $200 per day. He said that this was Lancair's policy. At the end of the day, Don said that there was no way that I could fly the plane, yet. I said, "Take me to the factory and teach me some more.". Don did just that. I spent 3 more days at the factory learning how to fly the 320s.

I thought that this was one of Lancair greatest policies. I tell everyone about it.

Is this still Lancair's policy? If it is, call the factory and have a pilot come on down to Texas. If it is not, let us all know.

Sincerely,
