Hi Mark:
Altho my experience is with a LIV-P, I did everything possible to the top; including glass, door, wiring, center console, paint, seat belt hardpoints, etc. Anything you can accomplish with the top off is about 10 times easier than crawling inside and playing contortionist.
I did use nut/bolts in strategic places to insure that the top would go back on exactly in the same place, each time I removed it. After the top was installed and I had to crawl inside to reinforce the top/bottom joint with 3-bid, I was very thankful that most everything else was already finished.
