Or just file it direct and I usually get it. If I file direct ("Direct routing GPS/LORAN") I usually print from Duats both the direct flight plan and the Low altitude Airway auto-routing flight plan. Then I am prepared for the ATC route if needed. And then there is the rare occasion when who knows what is going to be assigned. I find ATC great, helpful and answering questions keeping me safe.
