Rob,
Soft rivets are fine for nut plates. The rivets keep the nut plate
from spinning and can handle more torque than the screw/bolt can
transfer to the nut plate. The bolt/screw will break long before the
rivets. Try it out. Rivet a nut plate to a piece of aluminum you can
hold in a vise then over-tighten the bolt until it breaks. Chris Zavatson
