Rob, If you're keeping the water topped up in your battery, maybe you've got
the wrong battery.  There seems to be no disadvantage and a whole lot of
advantage to using the newer Recombinant Gas batteries. (no battery box
required,  no vent required,  mount in any position, longer shelf life,
longer charge life, about the same cost, no hazmat shipping charges, no
maintanance, no topping off with water...ever).
