I think it is very difficult to get a formula for the spring distance needed
for an 80-200 KIAS trim range, but I can tell you how you can make it very
easy to adjust for the range you require.

1. Replace the 3/8" alu tubing used originally with 3/8" alu rod.
2. Mount the front rod end bearing in a drilled hole tapped with 1/4-28
thread.
3. Use a cotter pin and washer as before for the forward spring limit.
4. Cut an outside 3/8-24 thread on the last 2-3" of the aft rod end for a
AN365-624 stop nut.

You will need help to suppress the springs and get the nut and washer in
place, but after that you can make adjustments without removing the whole
assembly by just turning the stop nut.
I have measured my spring distance to 8 3/4" which gives me full trim
between 80 and more than 220 KIAS, which is more than I actually need.
I have also replaced the nylon block with a more sturdy one of aluminium.
Mail me if you want pictures of my setup.
