Naf,
AC 20-27E says in par 12(a) Initial Step: ... "The builder should provide a
three view schetch, drawing, or photograph of the proposed aircraft project
and a tentative completion date of the project." ...
You are building a kit aircraft.  The DAR is supposed to know what a Lancair
is.  Admittedly, you nor any of us formally contacted tha FAA upon making
the decision to build.  That is old news.
Show him a sales brochure and AC 20-27E and be done with it.  Take a picture
if you feel you must.  He is being obtuse to the nth degree.
