Once you are past the learning curve and can fly the bird; right rudder pedals are not necessary: EXCEPT; if you are piloting the plane, have a flying co-pilot sitting next to you and you have a crippling health event that prevents you from flying. Yyour buddy can get you safely on the ground and save your plane as well. If you are solo it doesn't matter. You are toast. If you have a non pilot on board who can use radios and take instructions you should be able to get on the ground and survive a rough landing with or without pedals. So take your pick. I opted for no pedals.
