I flew my 320 for the first 350 hrs with a fixed pitch prop.I then switched to an mt 3 blade cs prop. A take off from battle mountain at gross convinced me to change. The best rate of climb speed lowered(because i needed more speed to allow the engine into the power range) but the cruise speed was the same at the same fuel flow. My take off distance was half(only 2300 rpm static vrs 2800 with mt) and my rate of climb more than doubled. The sound level at cruise was much less. Fixed pitch cruise 2940 rpm 220 mph 6.8 gph cs 2300 rpm 6,8 gph 220 mph.These numbers were lowered another .5 gph with laser system.
