Huh ? Back when I was considering buying a Lancair I did as much research as I could and found a lot of information including a little something I read somewhere about how tough it was to unpack a crated kit. So .... When I bought my kit I asked that the crate be assembled using screws to whatever extent was practical. Well the crates finally arrived yesterday and I started a bit of unpacking today. NO wrecking bar .... NO hammer ..... just my trusty Skil cordless electric drill with a Phillips bit and ZIP ZIP ZIP. It was quiet, easy, and so far it seems that virtually all of the lumber will be reusable for some building project. Vern did tell me that it took an extra couple of hours to put the crates together using sheet rock screws, so I guess he wasn't too happy about that. I emailed him some info on a cool automatic screw gun. Now I'm definitely no carpenter, but it looks like crate building with one of these screwguns should go even faster than with nails. If you are about to order a kit this certainly seems like the way to go.
