Jim
I had a similar shake in my IVP. Looked at everything, strut, tire
pressures, bearings, hinge points, overcenter link arms, and brake rotors.
All of these were within spec, in-fact tight. A last resort, I replaced the
brake rotors. No more nose wheel shimmy. Seems although the old rotors
were true when cold, once they heated in braking they would distort. I
attribute this to many hard brake landings at short fields and during
training. The new rotors have about 40 hours on them and are still
pristine. You might check to see if you have some fairly substantial
discoloration at the base of the rotor where it is welded to the hub. If
this shows substantial heat transfer, might be an item to replace.
Good Luck.
