I had a similar problem.  My left main was chipping a
spot on the left main gear door. Retraction tests showed
there was an inch of clearance up on jacks, but the
chipped gear door matched where the brake assembley
passed by.  You could envision how the door could be
flexed into the brake assembley.  By building up the
gear leg skid ramp on the gear door higher along the
area where the brake assembley came near the door it
solved the problem.  I also reasoned that the air loads
on the main gear door would explain why the problem
doesn't show up on the jacks.  The lesson for  anyone
not yet flying is to provide plenty of clearance during
the construction phase.  John Wright Colorado Springs
