This morning Dave Johnson, who lives near Placerville, CA and a passenger
who may have been his daughter crashed at a location very near his home on a
ridge top.  The ridge is about 5 miles south east of the Placerville Airport
and several of his neighbors are pilots so more information should be
available soon.

I did not know Dave well,  he shipped his Lancair here from Florida almost
ready to fly.  The plane had been flying for several years and a lingering
early problem thought to be in the fuel injection apparently had been
solved.  Dave was an ATP with many years of experience flying big iron for a
cargo carrier.
