My IO 360 is also a little tough to start when hot.  My procedure is to
crack the throttle and run the mixture about half way in.  When I start
cranking if she doesn't fire off in a couple blades, I then suck the mixture
full off.  As it fires I then feed the mixture back in.  It works every
time.
