Thanks Terry. That makes sense.

material
Old truck
tire rubber works well on emergency skids on the nose and it
doesn't slide around at high power settings when parked on the ground.

Congratulations John. Glad to hear that at least one of us is
flying. Maybe between the two of us, we can keep at least one rotary Cozy up
and flying. <g>
I expect to be back flying
by the weekend. When I went back
and really looked at the plane, the damage was not bad at all. The stainless steel foot on the front
strut took the brunt of it, and I have another one on the way. Work is light this week also, so I'm
working on the plane tomorrow, and probably half of Wednesday. Right now, my worst issue is finding a
hockey puck. For some reason they
aren't real popular in South Carolina.
I know that I saved the
other half of the first one I sawed in two, but I have not yet been able to
find it. I looked in all of the
logical places. I guess the
illogical places are next.
Glad you didn't have any
problems.
P.S. don't forget to put
your gear down.

again
Just to P Steve off, I'm happy to report that I flew my 8th flight
of 1.1 hrs this morning.
Incredibly, I have little to report. The engine never faltered,
except once when I did a test of the no fuel scenario by switching off one pump
before switching on the other. Duh!
As usual, there's a full report at http://canardaviation.com/cozy/chap29.htm
but it might be fairly boring reading, what with no engine failures and
precautionary landings etc. etc.
Regards,
John (I'm starting to LIKE flying my Mazda rotary)
