The peak current draw on the LS1 coils is 9A EACH.   This can happen on startup before the EC2 can compute the proper dwell time.  Average amps is much lower during normal operation.

Tracy  (I hate fuses in airplane)

So do you have a breaker for your coils, or no protection at all (as you suggest for the EC-20) ?

Rusty (I like fuses, big ones that protect the wiring, and blow only with good reason)

This isn't advice, just the way I chose to do it.

I have only 1 breaker on the flight critical bus.  If I have to shut off anything on this bus I might as well shut everything off because everything on this bus is needed to make the engine run.  There are separate switches for things like fuel pumps but no fuses.  There is a good argument to be made for separate breakers for lead & trail coils however.

If a breaker blows, it is usually has a good reason.  (including the possibility that the builder put in one that was too small)
