I may forget allot of things in the future, but I'll bet that landing gear won't be one of them.

When flying the C 182 RG the sole function of  my  "copilot" is to be sure that the gear are down and locked. The mechanic installed mirrors so that you see if they were down or not.

Gear down was on our DC-3 checklist twice. Once in a normal spot, and the last item on the landing checklist.

 

Building a fixed gear aircraft...... Unless the amphibs go on. Gear up on amphibs isn't as bad tho....
