Subject: [FlyRotary] Re: Turbo boost
limits in the EC2
Mode 6
went away Rusty. The EC2 now has a turbo boost retard built in that
linearly retards timing between 32 to 60" Hg. Nominal timing is 13 deg
BTDC by the time it reaches 60" MAP. This is to avoid
detonation.
That sounds perfect, and just
what's needed. Hmmm, even I might need this some day :-) Just out
of curiosity, when did this change occur? I think I have one of the
later, if not the latest versions of software, so I'm guessing I have this new
feature. Of course I was just looking up Mode 6 in my manual, that came
with the EC-2 firmware :-)
The next question is- does Todd
have this feature in his software? I would think anyone running a turbo
should make sure they get this ASAP.
Rusty (wondering what else the
software does that I don't know about)
Lots of things Rusty, and
unfortunately, the documentation is the last thing to get updated. BTW,
how many EM2 owners out there have not figured out how to change the display
brightness because I forgot to put it in the instructions? ACK, (button
4) does this in all modes except calibration and timer
screen.
One of the down sides to making
this fun thing I do into a business is that I feel guilty every time I make an
improvement to anything I sold before. I want every single one to
be the best I can do. In the case of the EC2 & EM2, they can be
updated by changing the socketed program
chips.
Thanks to all for the feedback on
'abnormal aviators'.

company)
