Subject: [FlyRotary] Re: Turbo boost
limits in the EC2
Ken Welter told me that it works for him, however I
haven't heard back from him. I don't know if there is an easy way to confirm
this. Any volunteers?
The other thing we have to ask is
what ignition controller is Ken using? If he's not using Tracy's
then all bets are off. Mazda times these plugs differently,
but I'm pretty sure that Tracy times them the same. Turning off
the trailing plugs with an EC-2 might not do a thing, or it might work
better. I just don't know.
Tracy already has a timing
advance feature (mode 6), that can be used as a timing retard of 4
degrees at whatever MAP setting you want. I'm not sure that's enough
change though. If there's going to be a new feature, why not
make something more along the lines of a significant timing retard that
happens at a set MAP. This would stop detonation, as well as
notify you via reduced power that you had crossed the
line.
Cheers,
Rusty (wish I could go to Mojave to watch the space
flight)
