Dave,
Does anyone have an idea about how hot I can let the fiberglass get?
Depends on the epoxy you used. MGS 335 can get to about 175.
I have a coolant level inspection door at the top of the cowl. I open that after shutdown and all the heat comes out.

New Problem: RMI tach no good.  According to my RMI engine monitor I have about 4300 RPM at 24 MAP.  At 29 MAP I still only have about 4500 RPM and at 35 MAP I am still at 4500 RPM static.  I dont buy it because it sure sounds different (faster).
I have similar issues with my Tiny Tach.  I plan on running an automotive tach using the EC2 output and the pulse divider gizmo Todd Bartrim sent me a while back.

Old problem still not fixed:  Low RPM: to keep it running it needs to be rich, so much that I billow smoke down 400 yrds of hangars.  It comes out in billows every 2-3 seconds.  Above 2200 RPM there are no problems (never were).
That's different. I'm overrich too, and I have 550s also. But no pulsing, just black soot. I'm planning on bringing the range down with mode 3 next time I run the engine.

 >  2200 RPM will have to be the idle speed.
You'd never get it back down without shutting off the engine :(

John (stuck up here (MS) wishing I was down there (FL))
Maybe we should all have our own colors. I'll take fuschia.
