However, it just dawned on me that I have a MicroChip development board sitting beside my desk blinking with a simple program I wrote trying to learn how to program one of these things. It also has a A/D conversion module and EVEN a temperature sensor to play with. So looks like if I wired temp sensors into the A/D converter channels of this chip and read them out through a Rs 232 link to a lap top, I would have my data collector - IF.
