Well, Yvon, given that my inserts are apparently 10-12 inches closer to my
exhaust port, I'll bet my inserts are in worst shape. I had thought it was
my imagination, but my exhaust which had been quieted (relatively speaking)
by the inserts, had recently seemed to be getting louder. Perhaps as a
result of the insert's deterioration.
I've been thinking about making up an insert out of stainless steel with a
couple of more disks, would appear to be fairly simple to do as stainless
plate is fairly easy to cut and punch with the right tools. But, alas, I do
not weld.
I'm about to depart on a 2000 mile round trip to Louisiana and then on to
Florida for a flyin in Jan. I'll be leaving on the 3rd of Janurary and
returning around the 14th. Then I will take my exhaust system apart and
check on the inserts. I'll let you know the results.
Best Regards
Ed

Good morning Ed,
I should have mentionned that you gave me the idea for the exhaust sound
suppressor inserts. Sorry I forgot to mention this.
I have to say that the rotary exhaust is even more powerful than I
thought,
especially since I lenghtened my exhaust pipes to 31" minimum.
Let's see...the shortest pipe is 31" long. The inserts are ~7" long and
they
fit into the collector, up to its crotch?. So the closest insert is about
24" from that exhaust port, while the lower insert is about 28.5" from the
other exhaust port.
