this struck me, too, that in one case we don't compare airplanes to cars
because they cruise at 75% power, not 12%, but then someone talks about car
radiators freezing up. apples, people, apples to apples! :-)

Cars in canada do use cardboard, but not, in my experience, because the
rads
freeze, but because the cars stay warmer.
