I spoke to them both at length today trying to figure out why my engine won't start. Difficult for them to contribute from long distance, but I got some good ideas and things to try. Thanks guys. Good news is that I spent most of the past 2 days getting some Cozy time with Paul Conner in Dan Crugers Cozy IV. So, once I can get mine running right, I should be able to fly it without hurting myself. We did one high speed taxi test in mine, but aborted just before lift off. Bottom line with my engine seems to be that, unlike me, its VERY VERY rich. You can't use mode 3 with the engine off, and it won't start. :( Even with the new EGO sensor, my air/fuel gauge is doing weird stuff again (when it did run yesterday). Mostly it seems to sit in the middle whatever I do with the mixture. Exhaust (when it runs) is visible BLACK soot. On the prop, in the air, on the exhaust, and presumably all over the o2 sensor. Even the oil seems to be absorbing black particles. After cranking the plugs are soaked. If it runs they're black. Any ideas? Wild guesses?
