Jon Slade was out testing his rotary early on. He had a standard street turbo on it.
He decided to kick in the turbo to see how it performed when it ingested one of the impellor blades.
He ended up flying it home and the repair took one day.
A powerful testament as to the reliability of the rotary design.

Subject: [FlyRotary] Dead Stick Landings?

I’m curious from any still on the list who have experienced a “dead stick” landing situation, if the propellor stopped spinning or not when the engine failed?

I also wonder if an engine has waning compression, if it would be more likely to free wheel in an engine out situation?

thanks.
