The shaft is drilled with an outlet in the sun gear producing a jet of oil onto the planetary gears.  This is how it was designed and produced by Ford.  I did not want to change this part of the design.

Hi Steve.

How does that quantity of oil get to the planetary set, is the shaft drilled?
Reducing this path wasn’t an option? Just easiest to enlarge the drain and keep the flow for cooling?
