That makes sense.
So after the engine rebuild, the engine didn’t run and the test function didn’t function either?
I’m in a situation where the engine runs but I cant access the coil diagnostic function.
Thanks for helping me think through my situation.

When my plane was sold, the purchaser had the engine rebuilt and reinstalled in the plane. In the process of removal, the ground from the coils to the engine (direct) was cut, and then when the engine was returned from the builder, the stub wire on the oil-pan was no longer there, the result was that spark testing from the EC-2 did not work, no spark. After considerable diagnostics, we determined that the coil ground was missing, when put back in place, the unit worked as it should.

Just dont understand why the diagnostic which turns all coils on at 3000 rpm is not working.
