Neil: The engine gets a "side sump' the, oil flow in gravity to the
sump, is still the same in a normal position or 90 degree
anticlockwise (pilot view)

The oil pick-up in the sump must just be the same length otherwise it
will have problems in suction.

I have designed some drawings and ideas can post in on the group for discussion.

The same principle’s that Ed used in his engine setup.
Wondering how many hours Ed`s  13B logged ?  Maybe David Gray can help
me, saw that he bought the RV 6

Le Roux,

You are no different to me in Australia -- a long way from anywhere.  In fact one wag called his farm "worlds end" so I am close!!!  I have never been in any discussion with a Plugs up engine, but I do recall it creates grief as well.  What do you do with the sump?  Sure anything can be altered, but every time you alter something it takes both time and money.  I no longer have either, so tend to keep it simple and standard where possible.  Welcome to the group, there are many brilliant minds here with lots of experience and great advice.

Neil.

Dave - thank you i feel sometimes a bit " isolated " here in South Africa in the experimental builders class. Has also joinned the EAA in USA to "stay on par" with the new technologies in the experimental class.
I have allready converted my 13B turbo model to a p port 44 mm inside diameter.
Regarding the slidethrottle and intakes i think i must go with a plugs up mount with a downdraft holley and leaning block.
Or if somebody on the group can helped me on the "plugs up topic." Has not scroll all the threads on the group yet - forgive me if it was an old topic.
Here in South Africa some of the websites are blocked by servers and can't get hold off more info.
I saw that David Gray bought Ed's bird ,saw a article years ago about his plugs up mount, is it still relevant? Seems much more practical for the exaust outlet and the correct intake runner length.

Glad to have you on board.  I think the rotary is a great choice for a Vision.
