Hi Steve
No worries, unfortunately u don't need much, but it will only seem to surface the more pressure you run (higher rpm and heat etc)
You shouldn't have any bubbles at all once warm, I can leave my cap off my engine whilst warm and running and I see nothing now.
All learnt from experience, but in saying that I wouldn't be keen to pull down your engine either until it really was a problem. ( running way to hot etc)
Hope this helps.
Cheers

Hi Christian
Not very much in the way of bubbles. Small amount of very small 0.5mm bubbles.
Nothing compared to what Ive seen from head gasket trouble in pistons.
Thanks
Steve

Hi Steve
Unfortunately yes, if leaking gases into the water it will get hotter, When it's being run can you see bubbles arising in the overflow tank, may only present itself when it warms up.
Neil unfortunately just had this issue with a newly rebuilt motor.
I've also had this issue, I then swapped to tracy,s seals.
Hope this helps.
Cheers

Hi guys
Our 4 port renesis in the Glasair has begun to get hotter.
We have been taxi testing and noticed temps rising higher than previously seen.
Unfortunately also noticed a tiny weep of water and the tiniest bubble appear between the rotor housing and rear plate yesterday.
So looks like o ring failure maybe beginning.
Do rotaries overheat as a result of an o ring failure?
Ive pressure tested it and it will hold ~10psi for half an hour.
What are the important issues re overheating in rotaries?
Thanks
