I thought I'd share for fun and maybe a little inspiration for those that are still building. The EC2 has been reset to original programming (from Tracy's RV4 Otter, I believe) with no tuning whatsoever, so this is how it started and ran under those settings. It's pretty rich so didn't idle well so that's why I'm running a higher rpm at the start. The only adjustments made in this video is with the mixture control. Towards the end of the video the idle is pretty rough until I got it smoothed out by leaning the mixture. I'm guessing the knocking that is heard during this rough running is from the PSRU not being happy with the torque reversals. This noise is not really all that noticeable from inside the cockpit but from the camera it is quite obvious and does not sound healthy at all. Knowing this, I will get this tuned today, so as to avoid any further running in this condition so to eliminate this stress on the psru. https://goo.gl/photos/r4T5DaMX11FbBd6g8 Comments welcome! Todd Bartrim Ps. Forest fire smoke is quite heavy here today but on the days the north wind clears it away, I have the Lockheed Electra waterbombers flying directly over my house when taking off heavily loaded. There are currently 4 of them based here and depending on where they are going and how long the turn-around time is, there is one as often as every 5-10 minutes. While this increased activity is preventing me from moving my plane up to the airport where I have more room to taxi test, it has also provided me with some entertainment. When loaded heavy, those 4 big props beat the air pretty loudly. A couple of pics here. The fire retardant stains are quite visible on the belly. https://goo.gl/photos/6QP4PYr4sXXkTh6S7 https://goo.gl/photos/bcDMY3Kcsc1yZzuc6 --94eb2c1cc624261e700557486467 Content-Type: text/html; charset="UTF-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable
