Yes, Max and I had a number of discussions about what to take and what to expect.  I told him it would be likely that the seals had set after this much time and I suggested removing a spark plug and pouring several table spoons of light oil into each housing to help loosen the Apex seals.  I also suggested that he climb to at least 5000 ft and circle the field for an hour or so to make certain everything is OK.  But, I suspect that after 30 minutes or so Max will head out for parts East {:>)

I wish Max the best for his upcoming flight; hope he has access to some ATF or equivalent to re-lube the housings and spends a few hours of circuits/orbiting Narsarsuaq before he heads out over the ocean again.

Max is in Greenland with his aircraft.  The engine was stuck (would not rotate)  having sat for that long, but he  worked the prop until he broke the seals loose and was able to get the engine to rotate.  Today he plans on starting the engine and assessing its suitability for continued flight on his ocean spanning trip.
